Former Liberty Professionals Latif Blessing forward has hinted of US nationality switch due to frustration over long wait for Black Stars call-up.

Blessing has excelled at Kansas City in the US, but he has been overlooked in several Black Stars call-ups.

He has disclosed that he is willing to follow the footsteps of footballers who decided to naturalise for other countries.

“Yes, I will consider playing for the USA national team when they approach me. I have been waiting for Black Stars call-up for sometime and it is not forthcoming. There are several players who have naturalised and are playing for other national teams, so this is not anything serious”, he said.

“Ghana does not take a keen interest in the welfare of former national stars; they abandon them after the players have sacrificed for the nation, but in USA it is the direct opposite.”

Blessing helped Los Angeles Football Club to finish third in the Western Conference of the MLS, scoring five goals out of thirty appearances.

Latif Blessing emerged as the top scorer of the Ghana Premier League in the 2015-16 season, bagging an impressive 17 goals from midfield position.
