Sampdoria have announced that four more of their players have tested positive for coronavirus after news that Manolo Gabbiadini had contracted the virus.

Omar Colley, Albin Ekdal, Antonio La Gumina and Morten Thorsby were all confirmed to have tested positive for COVID-19.

The Serie A club have closed all facilities and the team, coaches, directors and employees are all self-isolating at home.

All sporting activity at the club has been suspended while administrative activity will be carried out remotely.

President Massimo Ferrero, coach Claudio Ranieri and the team have called on people to firmly respect the guidelines from the authorities in order to confront this difficult period.
