Kotoko coach Zacchariassen to be sacked for not having required coaching certificates

The coaching credentials of Zacchariassen has come into question after Asante Kotoko’s exit from the CAF Champions League, amidst statement by the coach that the premier Africa inter-club competition is not the level of the Porcupine Warriors.

The expatriate coach was recruited from Kotoko’s rival club Ashanti Gold after he guided the Miners to the Normalisation Committee Special Competition Tier II triumph.

AshGold officials raised an alarm that Zjeti Zacchariasen doesn’t have the required certification to enable him coach in the Ghana Premier League.

Asante Kotoko who were excited about the coach’s capture brushed the claims aside and seeming made it appear that those claims were baseless and it was motivated by jealousy.

According to a report by Kumasi based Nhyira FM, the management of Asante Kotoko was hinted by a former management member of the club to take the allegation that Zacchariassen doesn’t have the required coaching certificate seriously.

And it was afterwards that the coach was requested to submit his certificates, but he is yet to do so, which appears to confirm the reports.

The latest development means the management of the Kumasi giants did no due diligence before hiring the coach.

It is understood that the Chairman of Asante Kotoko Dr. Kyei was the one who recommended the coach to management, so it is likely no official of the club would be fired for this blunder.
