However, Sampson Doku scored a spectacular freekick to put WAFA level before the half-time break.

After the break, Legon Cities opened fire on WAFA and restored their lead via Nii Addy’s long ranger, before Doku registered a brace through another long-range finish from outside the 18-yard box to make it 3-1 in favour of the host.

WAFA pushed for the equalizer, but they caught off guard and Legon Cities capitalized on a counter-attack, which saw Yusif Fadili finish it off to make the scoreline 4-1.

Richard Danso was given a second booking and consequently sent off in the late minute of the game.

This is Legon Cities highest win in the GPL this season and it is WAFA's heaviest defeat

This is also the first time Cities have won by more than 1 goal margin. They had won just 2 games prior to this game: 1-0 Sharks and 1-0 Bechem.

The academy boys were also the only team without an away defeat, but things fell apart at the Accra Sports Stadium as Legon Cities the side who had not won by more than a goal margin disintegrated them.

Legon Cities have chalked their highest win of the season, just as WAFA handed AshGold their worst defeat last week, they have also handed the Sogakope lads their worst of the season.
