Baba Rahman benched as Guus Hiddink watches on in Chelsea win

Abdul Baba Rahman did not get an opportunity for his Chelsea side in the game against Sunderland

Ghana international Abdul Baba Rahman did not get an opportunity to show new Chelsea boss Guus Hiddink his gameplay as the former Kotoko player was benched for the game against Sunderland.

Chelsea sacked Jose Mourinho on Thursday but the confirmation of new boss Hiddink did not come in time for the Dutchman to be in the dugout. Hiddink however was in attendance of the game that saw his Chelsea side sweep away Sunderland with a 3-1 victory.

Branislav Ivanovic opened the scoring for Chelsea after six minutes of the game at Stamford Bridge with Pedro Rodriguez doubling the lead seven minutes later.

The Blues sent the 2-0 lead into the interval before Oscar made it 3-0 from the penalty spot for the home side.

Fabio Borini pulled one back for Sunderland in what proved to be a consolation as Chelsea won the game by three goals to one.

Baba Rahman will seek to impress new manger as the former Chelsea boss takes over the club for a second stint until the end of the current season.
