President Akufo-Addo establishes football academy-Ex Ghana goalie discloses

Former Black Stars goalkeeper Abukari Damba has revealed he is working for an academy owned by the President of the Republic of Ghana.

Akufo-Addo is believed to be a sports enthusiast, having participated in the beautiful game as a young boy growing up in the Accra suburb of Nima.

The first gentleman of the land who is a fan of Asante Kotoko and Tottenham has confirmed his love for football, after Damba revealed he has established a football academy.

“I am currently working on a sports project for President Nana Akufo Addo, named WillyAddo Sports that seeks to discover and nurture youthful talents,” Damba told Happy FM.

"President Nana Akufo-Addo loves sports and wants the game to develop that's why. I’m the technical director and I have appointed some people to assist me to achieve that goal. I have travelled across the country scouting talented children for this program,” he said.

He added that “Nana Addo Jnr. is the president of the academy. We have about 60 children and it’s a non-residential project.”

“Two of the boys from this programme will be going to Holland. Foreign agents were in the country to monitor the boys,” he noted

Football in the West African country has grind to a halt after exposé by undercover journalist Anas Aremeyaw revealed alleged massive corruption in the game.
