Court appoints Registrar of Companies to manage GFA assets in the interim

Registrar of companies appointed as the official liquidator of the Ghana Football Association

The High Court has appointed the Registrar of Companies as the official liquidator of the Ghana Football Association

The court made the ruling after it granting an injunction application by the Attorney General to restrain the GFA and all it assigns from carrying out any official work.

This decision of the court can only mean the registrar of companies, Jemima Oware, will control all the assets of GFA until the hearing for the substantive petition for liquidation.

Justice Samuel Kwame Asiedu who presided over the said case did state that he had no contentions with the issues raised by the AG.

The Attorney General then filed a new application for an injunction and a taking over of the assets of the GFA after the expiration of the 10-day injunction granted by the same court.

The government began moves to dissolve the GFA following the revelations of corruption by Anas Aremeyaw Anas’ investigative piece.

But the GFA has challenged the Attorney General’s petition at the High Court seeking for the dissolution.
