The staggering fortune Cristiano Ronaldo earns - net worth revealed

Cristiano Ronaldo has continued his impressive form for Juventus after joining from Real Madrid last summer.

He leads the way in the Serie A scoring charts with 18 goals in 23 games.

The 34-year-old has also chipped in with nine assists and is on course to lift the Serie A title in his maiden season in Italian football. Juventus are 11 points clear at the top of the table.

Ronaldo has claimed previously his decision to join Juventus was to challenge himself but not everyone sees it that way.

Former Serie A star Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who turned out for Juve, Inter and AC Milan, has criticised the transfer, suggesting Ronaldo took the easy option in signing for the Turin side.

He said: "Ronaldo talks about challenges but he decided to go to a club who have been winning the Serie A title with their eyes closed.

"Why did he not choose a club from a second division a few years ago? Try to become a champion with such a second-division [club] and lead them to the highest level.

"Moving to Juventus is not a challenge at all."

It was thought that Ronaldo would be rested for tonight’s clash against Frosinone with one eye on their Champions League tie with Atletico Madrid in midweek.

But manager Massimiliano Allegri confirmed this week that the Portuguese striker would start the game in attack with Paulo Dybala.

Ronaldo’s net worth is estimated to be a staggering £82.1million ($108m), according to Forbes.

That ranked him at No 3 in the list of the world’s highest-paid athletes for 2018, behind Floyd Mayweather and football rival Lionel Messi.

Ronaldo’s annual salary at Juventus is reported to be £28m, which equates to approximately £280,000 per week.

His endorsement deals include Herbalife, EA Sports and American Tourister as well as launching his own brand ‘CR7’ which now includes an ever-expanding range of clothing, fragrance and footwear products.

In 2016, Ronaldo signed a lifetime contract with Nike, reported to worth in excess of £760m ($1bn).
