Video: Victorien Adebayor becomes the first player to score double-digit goals this season

Nigerien Victorien Adebayor became the first player to score double-digit goals in the 2019/2020 Ghana Premier League after he bagged a brace against Berekum Chelsea at the Golden City Park to his goal tally to 10 in nine appearances.

Adebayor registered a brace as Inter Allies defeated Berekum Chelsea 1-3 on Saturday at the Golden City Park.

Adebayor started the onslaught and Samuel Armah doubled the lead for the visitors.

Berekum Chelsea pulled one back, but Victorien Adebayor scored a goal which would probably contest for the goal of the season in any league: He skillfully run passed three Berekum Chelsea defenders, before he curled the ball to the right corner of the net.

The goal is his 10th of the season, making him the first player to record a double-digit goal this season.

This is what he said about his performance and his second goal.

” I told my teammates I want to score two goals against Berekum Chelsea to make a statement. And thank God I was able to score two goals. I’m ready to fight for the golden boot.

The attacker also spoke about his opener against Chelsea.

” I saw from the beginning the keeper wasn’t good. He was panicking in the goalposts. So I knew if add a bit technique I could score from that angle” He said.
