Vital Stats of the Ghana Premier League after matchday 2

The fastest goal on matchday 2 was scored by Prince Opoku of Medeama against Hearts of Oak in the 2nd minute.

Two players scored a brace on matchday 2; Emmanuel Gyamfi of Asante Kotoko and Prince Opoku of Medeama SC.

Songne Yacouba emerged as the assist king, as he provided all the three assists in Kotoko’s 1-3 victory against Legon Cities FC.

Alexander Domfeh of King Faisal was the only player who was sent off on matchday 2 as King Faisal suffered a 0-1 defeat against AshGold.

Statistics from the Individual games

AshGold defeated King Faisal 0-1 in Kumasi. It was their first-ever win at the home grounds of the Kumasi lads in 17 attempts.

Asante Kotoko walloped Legon Cities FC 1-3 on Friday to record wins in the two opening games of the Ghana Premier League. The last time the Porcupine Warriors won their first two games of the GPL was 2013/14 season and they subsequently won the league title that season.

Aduana Stars won their third consecutive league game in Accra against Gt. Olympics. This is Great Olympics poorest start to the Ghana Premier League since 2000.

Hearts of Oak recorded their heaviest defeat against Medeama when they were thrashed 3-0 by the Tarkwa lads. It is the first time since the 2009/2010 season that the Phobians lost their two opening games in the GPL.

WAFA made it four out of four in their home matches against Ebusua Dwarfs. They beat Ebusua Dwarfs 2-0.

Bechem United registered their first-ever goal at Inter Allies, but in the end, they lost 2-1.
