World No 1 female tennis player wins 4th consecutive WTA Player of the Year award

This is Serena Williams's seventh WTA Player of the Year win which takes her to the second player with most wins.

World number one female tennis player, Serena Williams has won the WTA Player of the Year for the fourth consecutive time.

The 34-year-old won three grand slams in 2015-Wimbledon Open, French Open and Australian Open.

She was on the verge of making history of winning four grand slams in a year before losing at the semi-final of the.

Her hiatus over, Serena Williams begins her ramp-up to 2016 in a familiar position. She is No. 1 in the world tennis rankings.

This is her seventh WTA Player of the Year win which takes her to the second player with most wins.

Steffi Graf is the player with the most (eight) WTA wards.
