One world record in the bag and a gold medal likely to follow on day two, Adam Peaty will leave Rio 2016 with a legacy. So might his grandmother.

Breaststroke specialist Peaty is unbeaten in four years and reached the 100m final in his discipline on day one of the Games, breaking his own world record in the process.

This delighted his grandmother, Mavis, who has branded herself #OlympicNan in the build-up to the Olympics.

It was, therefore, no surprise to see Mavis take to Twitter with glee when her grandson broke new ground on his way to making Sunday's final, where he will once again look to surpass his record time - 57.55 seconds.
