Speaking ahead of Aduana’s Matchday 20 fixture against Swedru All Blacks on Sunday, the Romanian tactician said the physical toll of domestic travel continues to test his squad’s endurance and recovery. Cioabă said:

It’s very difficult in away games. There’s more distance. Our team is travelling maybe 14 to 15 hours to get to some matches, but this is football.

The journey from Dormaa Ahenkro to Swedru ranks among the longest trips on the league calendar, forcing players to spend extended hours on the road just days before competitive action. Cioabă acknowledged that while every team faces logistical challenges, the distances involved in Ghana’s top flight can significantly affect performance levels, especially when fixtures are tightly scheduled.

Despite the travel burden, the Aduana boss struck a pragmatic tone, insisting his side must adapt and compete regardless of the circumstances.

This is part of the job. We can’t change the distances, so we must manage it and stay focused on the game

he added.Aduana FC currently sit 3rd in the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League standings after 19 matches, with nine wins, five draws, and five defeats. They trail league leaders Medeama SC by 8 points.

The Dormaa-based side has impressed with its attacking consistency and home form this season, though away results have proven more unpredictable. Sunday’s opponents, Swedru All Blacks, are enjoying a solid return to the top flight after a long absence.

The Central Region club has picked up important points in recent weeks and will be eager to capitalize on home advantage against one of the league’s high-flying sides.

For, Aduana, a positive result would help maintain pressure on the teams above them and reinforce their credentials as genuine contenders. Cioabă’s comments have also reignited discussion around the broader realities of football logistics in Ghana, where clubs often rely on long road journeys rather than air travel.
