The heavy rains made the Cape Coast Sports Stadium waterlogged, hence wasn’t able to stage the qualifying game between Ghana and Ethiopia, after the ball couldn't bounce when the referee experimented to test whether the pitch was good for football or not.

Ghana lost the first leg 2-1 in Ethiopia and would have to overturn the score line in order to book their ticket to the African Youth Championship to be held at Zambia .in 2017
