NPP chairmanship race: Asabee readies to contest

The Director-General of State Interests and Governance Authority (SIGA) is lacing his boot to contest the National Chairman position of the <a href="https://www.pulse.com.gh/news/politics/ill-shock-nana-addo-and-npp-with-65-victory-in-2020-elections-osofo-kyiri-abosom/syn61jb">New Patriotic Part</a>y (NPP) in the party's primaries.

Stephen Asamoah Boateng popularly known as Asabee who doubles as the former Member of Parliament (MP) for the Mfantseman West constituency in the Central region said his decision to contest is a result of calls from the rank and file of the party across the country.

In an interview on Accra-based Peace FM, he said "I have consulted with some leading members and have the green light which means it is true that I will vie for the Chairman position when the party opens nominations''.

He believed he is the right candidate to take the party into victory, come 2024.

"We will make the NPP the preferred party of choice in Ghana which is poised to win 2024 and beyond. That is my vision," he stated.
