I am not worried if Sulley Muntari calls me “the Young One”

Black stars Captain, Asamoah Gyan says he is not worried if his team mate, Sulley Muntari calls him “the Young One”.

Some Ghanaian are of the perception that Asamoah Gyan can’t fit into the shoes of Ex Black Stars Captain. Stephen Appiah was a unifier and a great force to reckon with but Asamoah Gyan has not taken that position fully.

“I am not worried. I have played with Sulley Muntari for so many years and he knows what he is saying. I respect Sulley’s opinion about me”.

Speaking on the Delay show, Asamoah Gyan, 31, emphasized that “he is the Captain of the Black Stars and he doesn't care if any player thinks he [ Asamoah Gyan] is not the Captain. Officially he is the Captain and he has control because his orders are followed”.

Asamoah Gyan indicated that the public has demonized the use of ‘Mallams’ in sports. He added that football is a ‘spiritual work’.
