On a day off training, on January 6, two of the senior players sent a message to the squad's WhatsApp group which reads; "If we continue like this, we will not win anything this year.

"We cannot go another season without anything," another player replied.

These messages, according to  the Diaro  Sport report were what spured the players on to embark on a winning streak which saw them launch an assault on La Liga, Copa del Rey and the UEFA Champions League.

Barcelona yesterday were declared Spanish  Champions, and with two finals to come, the squad is on the cusp of another historic treble.

All thanks to WhatsApp.
