Bath and England's Anthony Watson hit with offensive language charge after red card in Premiership clash with Saracens

Bath wing Anthony Watson has been banned for two games after accepting charges of tackling in the air and using inappropriate language.

Watson, part of England's Six Nations grand-slam winning side, was sent off against Saracens for taking out Alex Goode in the Premiership defeat at the start of this month.

Following his sending off, Watson was accused of using "offensive, inappropriate and unprofessional" language, and the 22-year-old pleaded guilty to both charges.

After a Rugby Football Union hearing on Tuesday, it was announced that Watson had been suspended for two matches, one for each charge, the minimum punishment for such offences.

Watson will miss Bath's Premiership fixtures against Sale Sharks on April 17 and 23.
