“As you know, the UK package to Ghana is around GBP130 million and we are determined to keep that going as part of its global vision,” the UK top diplomat told Accra-based Joy FM recently when he visited Ghana.
In 2016, the British government cut aid to Ghana owing to the country's new economic status as a middle-income country.
Mr Johnson affirmed British interest in the various sectors of the Ghanaian economy in a meeting with President Nana Akufo-Addo.

“We hope to have an even deeper friendship going forward and particularly we want to make sure that British firms come here in greater numbers and in greater strengths to invest in Ghana and, if I may say so, take advantage of the fantastic opportunities there are in this country,” Mr Johnson said at a joint press conference with President Akufo-Addo.
