Ghana is without nominations for the three prestigious awards which are African Player of the Year, African Player based in Africa and Women’s Player of the year.
However, the West African country will still have some interest in the award ceremony as Black Princesses has been nominated for the awards in the Women’s National Team of the Year category.
The Ghana Black Princesses have excelled in the qualifying series to the 2018 u-20 women’s World Cup and this regard have earned a nomination in this stead.
The Black Princesses beat the Algeria by 10-0 on aggregate with 5 goals each coming from the two legged ties.
The team then proceeded to face Kenya where the Princesses beat their counterparts 5-0 at home in Cape Coast before going to Nairobi to record a 5-1 victory.
The team will face Cameroonian counterparts on 12th and 26th January 2018 to see if they can finally book a place in the world cup to which will happen in August 2018 to be hosted by France.
Ghana will look to make it to the tournament for the fourth successive time.
The Ghana u-20 are competing with Kenya, South Africa, Zimbabwe senior teams and their Nigerian u-20 counterparts for the coveted award.
