More than 500 members of Boko Haram have been killed in Niger, an official of the country’s police force has said.

According to Niger's police spokesman, Captain Adili Toro, 513 of the terrorists have died during anti-terrorism operations carried out by the country’s military.
Toro also added that the number does not include casualties from provisional land and air operations launched against the sect by Niger and Chad's army in Nigeria on Sunday, March 8.
The police spokesperson also told the Associated Press that 24 Nigerien soldiers had been killed during the battles while 38 soldiers were left injured.
Niger, Chad and Cameroon have deployed soldiers to Nigeria as part of multinational efforts to combat Boko Haram.
