Nigerian troops in Borno State have cleared Bama Town of Boko Haram terrorists, military sources say.

The town was finally recaptured on Monday, March 16, after days of fighting.
“Nigerian troops have this afternoon routed terrorists from Bama in Borno state. Mopping up operation is ongoing,” the Nigerian Defence Headquarters said via Twitter.
The terrorists were said to have set homes in the town ablaze in order to avoid it being taken by troops.
Bama, the second largest town in Borno, was captured by Boko Haram on September 11, 2014.
