The Broncos confirmed the 26-year-old had fractured his thumb and could require surgery, but will miss four to six weeks.

Brisbane are third in the NRL standings after winning eight of their opening 12 games of the season.

It is another blow for McCullough, who was sidelined with a hamstring injury earlier in the campaign.
