Ghana champions Wa All Stars suffered a 1-3 defeat at the Tamale Sports Stadium in the preliminary stage of the CAF Champions League

Libyan giants, Al Ahli Tripoli proved too strong for Wa All Stars, as they hammered them 1-3 at the Tamale Sports Stadium in the latters maiden campaign in the CAF Champions League to put their changes of advancing into the next stage of the competition in danger.

Mohammed Ali in the 20th minute shot the Al Ahli Tripoli into the lead. Wa All Stars after conceding pushed more men upfront in search of the equaliser, but it proved futile, before the referee blew his whistle to bring the first half into an end.
Back from recess the visitors registered their second goal of the afternoon through Sufyan Kareem, before Richard Arthur pulled one back for Wa All Stars.

However, Al Ahli Tripoli put the game beyond the reach of Wa All Stars when they scored the third goal against the run of play to complete the onslaught.
