The lynched military officer Captain Maxwell Adam Mahama was an avid fan of Tennis.

Mahama, believed to be in his early 30s, was mercilessly lynched by mob residents of Denkyira-Obuasi in the Central Region on Monday, under the highly disputed claim that he was mistaken for an armed robber while going on a morning jog.

The late Captain Mahama, pulse.com.gh gathers, was a lawn tennis player, having consistently featured for the 37 Mess Tennis Club.

He is also known to have made Facebook posts professing his love for the sport, saying on one occasion that he was "proud to belong to this (Tennis) 'fraternity'", while keenly following Grand Slam tournaments.

Captain Mahama also listed Spanish giants FC Barcelona as his favourite football team on the social media networking platform.

He left behind a wife, Barbara, and two children.
