CPP leadership asked to resign as fresh tension mounts in party
The leadership of the Convention People’s Party (CPP) has been asked to resign for “violating” the party’s constitution as fresh tension mounts in the party.
He made the comments following the revoking of the membership of the party’s acting General Secretary, Eric Asani Tano.
Mr Tano took over from Nii Armah Akomfrah, who was suspended last year together with Mr Yeboah, for indiscipline.
Taking aim at the CPP chairman, Prof. Delle, Yeboah accused him of victimising hard working party members such as Tano.
He further accused him of ignoring a disciplinary committee decision to reinstate him and the suspended General Secretary Akomfrah,
“The Disciplinary Committee found the General Secretary and National Youth Organiser not guilty of Delle and his cabal's trumped up charges and asked for them to be reinstated. Delle has ignored that directive and now like a miniature Donald Trump, issues executive orders "by heart", dismissing honest hardworking members of our Party like comrade Yaw Asani Tano. Delle is arrogating to himself powers he doesn't have, with impunity,” he said.
He also alleged that the party’s account is empty and that the party has no financial records.
“Where was Delle's application of the constitution, when it came to financing the CPP's participation in the 2016 elections? Where are the financial records, because our accounts are empty. Who emptied them,” he quizzed. “When was the last time Delle and co paid their dues? Where is the evidence of payment?”
