The latest edition of satirical magazine, Charlie Hebdo has sold out in France, vendors say.
The new edition is the first published since the January 7 massacre at the magazine’s Paris office which left 12 people dead.
However, more copies of the new edition, which features a weeping Prophet Mohammed on the cover, are expected as the distributors have announced plans to increase the print run to 5 million.
“The publisher has decided this morning to bring the print run to 5m,”Véronique Faujour, president of the distributor MLP, told AFP.
Vendors say the magazines were sold out minutes after delivery and some were forced to put up signs saying they were out of stock.
Gunmen, Cherif and Said Kouachi attacked the magazine’s office and opened fire on staff who were holding an editorial meeting. Most of Charlie Hebdo’s senior employees were killed.
