New records have revealed that Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich's loan to the English Premier League winners have exceeded £1 billion.
Roman Abramovich's company, Rrussian Oligarch bought Chelsea in July 2003 and have since then loaned £1 billion to the club.
Up from £984 million the previous year, the new account for the year ending June 30 shows that Chelsea's parent club Fordstam, owes Abramovich £1 billion.
Abrovich however wants to continue backing the club.
"The company has received confirmation from the ultimate controlling party that sufficient funds will be provided to finance the business for the foreseeable future," Fordstam secretary Paul Heagren said.
"The football club needs to balance success on the field together with the financial imperatives of this new regime," Heagren added.
