Only the coldest of hearts won't appreciate this story from the Rio Olympic diving competition on Sunday.

Chinese diver He Zi finished second to earn the silver medal in the women’s three metre springboard final. It is her third career Olympic medal — she won a gold and a silver at the 2012 London Games.

Sunday may have been the first time she got a diamond, though.

Then-boyfriend and (spoiler alert) now-finance Qin Kai — also her teammate on the Chinese diving team — proposed to her at the edge of the pool seconds after the medal ceremony.

Qin, a five-time medallist himself, had a rose and, of course, a ring for He.  Both were moved to tears.

"I didn't know and I didn't expect to marry myself off so early," said He, 25, at the medallists' press conference.
