Connacht centre McSharry out for season with concussion

Connacht centre Dave McSharry is out for the rest of the season after being advised to take the rest of the campaign off because of concussion.

McSharry sustained his latest blow back in December in a European Rugby Challenge Cup clash with Newcastle Falcons.

The 26-year-old has not played since and a statement on the Pro12 leaders' website read: "Having sustained a number of concussions in the past 12 months, Dave McSharry has been reviewed by a specialist.

"He has been advised to undertake a period of rest from the game for the remainder of the current season."

The news comes after flanker Eoghan Masterson was ruled out for remainder of the seaason due to knee ligament damage.

Connacht are two points clear of Leinster at the top of the Pro12 table.
