Rumoured death of Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote has gained his attention after the false news spread across several news websites.

The publication has gone viral on social media.

However, Mr Dangote tweeted on Sunday that he was “hale, hearty and alive”.

Aliko Dangote is the 67th richest person in the world and the richest in Africa with an estimated net worth of US$12.9 billion as at September, according to Forbes.

The Group's interests span a range of sectors in Nigeria and across Africa. Current interests include cement, sugar, salt, pasta, beverages and real estate with new projects underway in the oil and gas, telecommunications, fertiliser and steel sectors of the economy.
