The Electoral Commission of Ghana (EC) is expected to meet “active” political parties on Friday, August 21 to discuss issues regarding the electoral reforms and the call for a new voters' register.

The leadership of the New Patriotic Party have therefore petitioned the EC to compile a new voter's register with claims that the register is flawed and cannot be used in the 2016 general elections.

This suggestion has generated a lot of controversy with the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) calling it “frivolous” and “fraudulent”.
The meeting is scheduled to be held at the head office of the EC.
