Dr. Kwaku Frimpong ‘Champion’ resigns as President of AshGold

Ashanti Gold were stunned on Wednesday when Bechem United defeated them 0-1 at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium courtesy of Prince Adu Kwabena’s goal.

Some fans of the Miners hurled insults on Dr. Kwaku Frimpong as he left the stadium, calling for him to leave the club.

‘Champion’ whose relationship with the supporters of Ashanti Gold hasn't been the best said that he has resigned from his position as the president of the club with immediate effect

“I am no more the President of Ashanti Gold SC. I have decided to quit the club,” Dr. Frimpong told Fox FM

“The supporters are not ready to work with us [club’s management]. They don’t like our ideologies, so they should manage the team themselves”

“I discussed with my family and they asked me to quit the club because of the unsporting behaviour of the Ashanti Gold SC supporters”
