The 2016 presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Akufo-Addo, has urged electorates to ignore the ‘hi-five’ mantra and focus on the elephant which is the symbol of the party.

Nana Addo was speaking at a press conference in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region on Wednesday (November 30).

“In this election, I have heard people say high-five, but I’m here to plead with you that what is most important is the elephant, because the NPP’s symbol is the elephant, the presidential candidate’s is also the elephant. Not all MPs will be number five on the ballot, so the most important thing is to remember the Elephant when you are voting.”

But not all the NPP presidential candidates are fifth on their ballot sheets. This is because not all political parties are contesting in the parliamentary elections in all constituencies.
