Nana Addo was speaking during his campaign tour at a rally in Wa in the Upper West region. He argued that there was absolutely nothing wrong with begging to be President.

He said he will continue to beg the electorates if that was all he needed to help him realise his dream of serving Ghana. “I’m prepared to beg the people of Ghana to be President if that is what is required to be done,” he added.

President John Mahama at a campaign rally in Bimbilla in the Northern Region has asked Akufo-Addo to refrain from begging for power.

"It is a very dangerous experiment, Ghana is not at the stage where we are experimenting leadership and so you can’t come and beg that we should try you," President Mahama said.

“We are not in the era of experiments and trials, we are in the era of what is sure, we have seen this government, one of the major success of this government is peace and stability,” he added.

But Nana Addo argued that “the experience of the person who is there now, has been a disastrous experience for our country so what is the purpose of continuity?”

Nana Addo said.

“The experience that he claims to have is a bad experience. An experience that is costing the people of Ghana. We want to bring that experience to an end on December 7. This is my third attempt at the presidency – 2008, 2012 and I’m here again. I say help me.”

Ghana goes to the polls on December 7. Nana Addo and President John Mahama are the frontrunners in this election. Both of them have been canvassing for votes across the country as they share their plans with the electorates.
