I’m ready for war – Vanderpuije tells Bannerman

Supporters of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the main opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) clashed in the Odododiodioo constituency in Accra on Tuesday night.

The Member of Parliament for Odododiodio constituency, Nii Lante Vanderpuye has issued a warning to the NPP presidential candidate of the constituency that there will be war in the area if that is what he wants.

Speaking on Accra-based Citi FM after clashes in the constituency between supporters of both candidates Nii Lante Vanderpuije said he has tried to make peace with his opponent but to no avail.

Supporters of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the main opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) clashed in the Odododiodioo constituency in Accra on Tuesday night.

Reports say the fight occurred at the end of two separate campaign rallies held by the two parties.

Several people from both sides have been reported injured and are receiving treatment at the hospital.

Meanwhile, Nii Lante Bannerman has accused the incumbent MP of the area of fuelling the attacks in the area by physically abusing him a day after the clash between their supporters.

The MP and Minister of Youth and Sports, Nii Lante Vanderpuije, has however not confirmed or denied attacking the New Patriotic Party’s Parliamentary candidate.
