Disqualified presidential nominee of the All Peoples Congress (APC), Hassan Ayariga has disclosed that he closed down his pizza restaurants because the Kufuor administration tried planting cocaine on him.

Ayariga explained that the then Kufuor government accused him of sponsoring the war in Bawku in the Northern region.
Speaking on Accra-based Citi FM Ayariga said:
He said a friend of his told him what the government of the day had planned against him.

He said it was easy to decide on the closure of the restaurant because it was not yielding enough profit as compared to his other businesses.
Ayariga and 12 other presidential nominees from different political parties in the country were disqualified from contesting the December polls after the Electoral Commission identified anomalies in their nomination forms.
