Nana Addo’s ferry delay is blessing in disguise – Krachi Chief

Nana Addo and his campaign team were left stranded for some hours at the banks of river Oti in the Volta Region.

The Tufohene of the Krachi Traditional area in the Volta Region has indicated that he is very excited that Nana Addo was caught up at the bank of River Oti for hours.

Nana Baffour Mireku Okonsende II explained that this will ensure that Nana Addo develops a better transportation means for residents in the area if he becomes President after the December 2016 polls.

“I am very happy when you got to Dambai, the Pontoon got spoiled. I am very happy and that is because God knows you will become the President. When you don’t fix the challenges with our transport then it is up to you. If it was fixed and you were coming, you wouldn’t have suffered.”

Accra-based Starr FM reported that the ferry which was to transport them to the other side of the river got stuck. However, some NPP officials and activist believe this is a way of sabotaging the party.

Even though Nana Addo has made no promise to carve a new region from the Volta region Nana Baffour Mireku Okonsende II appealed to Nana Addo to make Krachi the regional capital of a new region he may create from the Volta region should he become President.

“We heard you promising in the Western Region and Mahama also did same. If there should be a new capital, it should be here in Krachi. We know that Krachi has all the infrastructure needed to be a new regional capital.”

Meanwhile, Nana Addo said that he was hopeful Ghanaians will vote for him as President this time around. He promised to undertake a number of developmental projects all over the country.

“Ghanaians have become too pitiful. The country is rich in mineral resources but the people are suffering. This is not how it is supposed to be. We have to govern the people in such a way that there’ll be development and progress.”
