“If primitive means offering solutions that will resolve our people's problems then we don’t want to be modern. What is important is what will resolve the people’s problems.”

Speaking to Pulse.com.gh Mustapha Hameed said the NPP does not want to have a modern campaign style if modernity means “doing Usain Bolt, taking selfies and putting them on Facebook, celebrating one million likes on Facebook then he can continue to be modern.”

He argued that

President John Mahama in an interview on Metro TV described the ‘one to one’ promises made by Nana Akufo Addo as an ancient style of campaigning.

He argued that until Nana Akufo Addo explains his implementation strategy of his promises to the electorates his current style remains one that was primitive.

"Maybe when his manifesto comes we will understand what exactly he wants to come and do. Like I said, these promises are not new. They are yesterday's campaigning style; my father's time, you just throw out something and people just take it; 'one village one dam, one district one factory' what kind of factory are you going to build? Is it a car assembly plant or a manufacturing unit or what?" he quizzed.
