The Supreme Court also ruled that the EC extends the duration for nomination till Tuesday November 8.

“We have done the alteration. You know the law talks about either amend[ing] or alter[ing]. To amend means to improve what you have, and to alter is to replace without necessarily changing the form, so, you know that we had only one issue which is the subscription of somebody called Richard Aseda. It was said that he did it for the candidate in Buem, Jasikan District and did it at Lower Heman Denkyira in the Central Region. So what we have done is to replace the Richard Aseda with someone else and to replace the person who also signed in the Lower Heman Denkyira with another person, so, we’ve done a complete alteration by giving them two different subscriptions. The Richard Aseda is no longer on our forms.”

On the new errors identified by the EC after the Supreme Court ruling, Nii Ayikoi Otoo said the EC said there were issues with some signatures on the forms.

“They thought there were issues with maybe some signatures which may differ and they are not forensic scientists, they cannot say that really these are different signatures.”

“You know, what is happening is that the forms are filled in quadruplicates so what they do is to look at the signatures and compare with the others … and if they find that they don’t appear to them to be the same, then they say all they are doing is to just draw your attention that."

He said Richard Aseda during his meeting with the EC denied signing for two different regions.
