Speaking after the case was heard yesterday (Tuesday) he said he is currently optimistic the ruling on Friday, October 28, will be in their favour.

He argued that it was clear the Electoral Commission erred by taking this step to disqualify the presidential aspirants.

“The law provides that when I present my forms look through and if you find anything wrong, give me an opportunity to correct and if I fail to correct then you do the endorsement, give it to the EC and within seven days let the EC make a decision.”

“I bring my forms to you on the 30th.  You accept the forms. You told me nothing, go, you’ll hear from me. Then on the 10th the only hearing is that I have been disqualified. Have you acted according to the law? Did you give me the opportunity to do the corrections?”

Dr Nduom is one of 13 presidential aspirants who was disqualified in the presidential race due to some anomalies on his forms.

On reasons why the PPP’s Papa Kwesi Nduom was disqualified, the EC Chair said: “the Commission is unable to accept Dr Nduom’s nomination because again the number of subscribers in his forms did not make the requirements of regulation 7(2) of CI 94.”
