The Englishman, searching for his maiden European Tour victory, carded seven birdies including one at the last to claim the outright lead, with a bogey on the par-four eighth his only blemish.

Evans, last man out on the course at the Albatross Golf Resort, was three under before dropping that shot, but a run of three birdies in the next four holes assuaged his disappointment before he picked up another gain on the 18th.
