Retinoblastoma is an aggressive kind of eye cancer that affects young children. Experts say it develops like a tumour in the retina.

It has been discovered that the disease-retinoblastoma can be diagnosed using a smartphone. If a child has the disease, a white glow will surface around his pupils, when his eye is snapped, using a camera with a flash.

Speaking to USA Today about the disease, Ophthalmologist Michael W. Stewart said “When caught early, retinoblastoma is very treatable. Current technology and chemotherapies can save the baby’s life and vision.”

The video below, shows how retinoblastoma can be detected.
