Facebook is opening up its messenger service for third-party apps, so as to make the service an enjoyable experience for its users all over the world.

The CEO of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg announced on Wednesday, 25th March,2015 during the F8 developers conference that the new Facebook messenger app will be open to tech heads and developers who want to put up apps for people to use.

He added that the reason Facebook is opening up its messenger service for third-party apps, is to make the service an enjoyable experience for its users all over the world. Also a new feature on the messenger service is the Facebook messenger for business that will allow customer service personnel to receive complaints from their customers directly in real-time, and also chat with them to get feedback on products and services.

Zuckeberg was quoted saying “It's a better way to do it than having to pick up the phone. I don't know anyone who likes calling businesses; it's not fast and it doesn't feel like the future,"
