6 die in Kasoa-Winneba road accident

Six people met their untimely death after a Mercedes Benz Sprinter bus collided with a Yutong bus, on the Kasoa- Winneba road.

The incident happened around 10:00 pm on Thursday, when the sprinter bus driver lost control of the steering wheel, resulting in the accident, Accra-based Adom FM reported.

The Mercedes bus with registration number GE-5526-15 was from Takoradi and on its way to Accra when it crashed with the Yutong bus with registration number GT-6454-10 at Gomoa-Buduatta junction in the Central Region.

Personnel of the Ghana National Fire Service had to cut through parts of the Sprinter bus in order to save some of the injured passengers who were trapped in the vehicle.

The injured were later conveyed to the Winneba Government Hospital for treatment.
