Former spokesperson Shalimar Abbiusi distances herself from the new force
Former spokesperson of The New Force, Shalimar Abbuisi, has issued a strong public statement cautioning against the continued use of her name, image, and personal content by individuals and organisations linked to the movement, as she pivots towards diplomatic and humanitarian work.
In a statement dated April 28, 2026, Ms. Abbuisi revealed that it has come to her attention that a video allegedly featuring her likeness, voice, and personal content may soon be released by actors associated with The New Force, the New Africa Foundation, and the New Africa Congress, including Nana Kwame Bediako, popularly known as Cheddar or Freedom Jacob Caesar.
According to her, this development comes despite a formal cease-and-desist letter issued on April 13, 2026, through her legal representatives, demanding an immediate halt to the unauthorised use of her identity and content.
She noted that no response has been received from the parties involved, prompting her to publicly clarify her position.
“For the avoidance of doubt, I am no longer a spokesperson for The New Force or any affiliated entity. I do not represent them, nor do I speak for them in any capacity,” she stated.
Ms. Abbuisi further stressed that she has not authorised any individual, organisation, or political group to use her name, image, voice, or likeness for promotional, political, or communication purposes. She added that any previous consent granted has been formally revoked and cannot be interpreted as a perpetual licence.
The former communications figure also urged media houses, bloggers, and the general public to refrain from sharing or amplifying any content featuring her that is circulated by the aforementioned groups.
“I ask the public and the media to respect my privacy, dignity, and personal autonomy,” she said, warning that any attempt to associate her with agendas she has not expressly endorsed would be misleading.
She disclosed that her lawyers have been instructed to take all necessary legal action should the alleged unauthorised usage persist.
Sources close to Ms. Abbuisi indicate that she has since moved on from her previous political engagements and is now focusing on diplomatic and humanitarian initiatives, marking a new chapter in her professional journey.
