Kumasi Asante Kotoko walloped Berekum Chelsea 3-1 at the Essipong Sports Stadium, Sekondi on Friday to avenge their heavy league home defeat to Berekum Chelsea.

Three goals from Amos Frimpong, Dauda Mohammed and Kwame Boateng, before a consolation goal from Asiwome Fumador cruised Asante Kotoko to a vintage victory in their opening game of the GHALCA 6 tournament.

The early stages of the game was an end to end affair, but the Porcupine Warriors established control over the game and earned the match opener, after Amos Frimpong headed home a well taken freekick from Eric Donkor in the 40 minute to register the first goal of the tournament, after both games played yesterday had ended in a scoreless draw.

Kotoko doubled their lead on the stroke of half time, when Amos Frimpong cross was connected home by the Dauda Mohammed.

Berekum Chelsea back from recess doubled their effort and pulled one back through substitute Asiwome Fumador, just after Kotoko’s defensive midfielder Theophilus Nyame had been sent off for rough play.

Former Great Olympics attacker, Kwame Boateng used some few second to announce his presence by scoring the 3 goal in the 70 minute, through another assists from the foot of Amos Frimpong to make victory certain for his side.

Amos Frimpong who had a hand in all the three goals scored by Asante Kotoko was adjudged the man of the match.

Cooling break was introduced in the game, after 30 minutes of each halves to permit the teams to drink some water.
