Ghana Beauty and Aesthetics Academy to tackle unregulated cosmetic procedures during National Industry Dialogue
Key stakeholders prepare to address rising safety concerns around Ghana’s fast-growing beauty and aesthetics industry, a major conversation championed by Ghana Beauty and Aesthetics Academy tagged National Industry Dialogue on March 31, 2026, at the Mövenpick Ambassador Hotel in Accra.
The free event will also see the official launch of the Ghana Aesthetics and Wellness Association; aim at bringing industry practitioners and health regulators under theme “The Future of Beauty and Medical Aesthetics in Ghana.”
Ghana’s digital ecosystem has contributed largely to rapid growth mounting pressure on the young people to enchance their appearance to please, hence the need to national dialogue to educate and provide the best form for practice for all. While authorities have shut down several illegal clinics, experts say enforcement alone is not enough to fix the problem.
Founder of the Ghana Beauty and Aesthetics Academy, Linda Mensah, believes the focus should shift from punishment to proper regulation and support.
“We are closing clinics, but we are not fixing the system that allows them to exist in the first place,” she said.
She added that bringing practitioners into a structured system through training, certification, and regulation will lead to better outcomes, especially for patients.
The dialogue will feature key industry and health sector figures, including:
Dr. Winfred Korletey Baah, Acting Registrar and CEO of HeFRA
Linda Mensah, Beauty and Wellness Entrepreneur, Dr. Ernest Konadu Asiedu, Head of Medical and Dental Program at Ministry Of Health.
Representatives from the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) and the Ministry of Health are also expected to participate in the dialogue.
The initiative is supported by the Commission for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (CTVET), and HeFRA.
Corporate sponsors include Lamelle, Fulfilled Medspa Clinic, Covered Cosmetics, and Aqua Gold.
Organizers say the goal is to create a structured and regulated industry that protects consumers while supporting practitioners.
