The land has been acquired for close to decade ago but no work has been done of this space ever since.
The leadership of Ghana manned by Mr Ben Nunoo Mensah is looking forward to revamp the project after it was abandoned by the previous GOC administration.
The Committee held a media tour of the site to give out first hand information on what is bound to go into the OlympiAfrica project.
Mr Ben Nunoo Mensah complained about funding of the project being an issue.
“We have great ideas but funding is the issue so any company that has the development of the youth at heart should come on board to partner with the GOC”.
However, the GOC have secured a deal with Decker Engineering and Construction Limited and the Association of National Olympic Committees of Africa (ANOCA) has agreed to give the GOC $150,000 to begin the work on the site.
The phase of the project is to build an administrative part of the center with offices, kitchen and a conference room.
The second phase will then go into sporting facilities which include five multi-purpose pitches, Olympic sized football field with tartan tracks.
The breakdown of how the project was going to take place was done by architect on the job Mr. S.M Quartey
This bound to deal with the primary problem of all Olympic sport in Ghana which is that of infrastructure.
Mr Ben Nunoo Mensah did say that the land has been acquired over a decade and to that effect a wall was built around it to prevent encroachers
