Wa All Stars maintained the top spot in the league when the defied all expectations to push New Edubiase United further to relegation in front of their fans.

The New Edubiase lad earned a famous away victory at Techiman City, but they blew away an opportunity to stage a remarkable fight to avoid relegation. The 2012 FA Cup champions had wasted a penalty kick before they got punished by the Wa lads to make it apparent that they might not beat relegation this season, with four matches to spare.

An outfit that wanted to win a trophy to commemorate their 20th anniversary were surprising knocked out of the FA Cup and are now struggling to avoid relegation.

Asante Kotoko's title campaign also suffered a major jolt after drawing 1-1 with Hasaacas who also needed the maximum points desperately to cushion them in their bid to avoid relegation
